An Ugly American Abroad

The island is LITERALLY next door to St. Thomas.  Got up early (we arrived at 6am) to eat something (banana bread) and head out for my excursion—having that solo lounge is definitely handy.

Our guide Ishmael was good and took us to several viewpoints—Richard Branson owns a couple of islands nearby.  Final stop was at a beach where I got a delicious bagel—Omar’s Coffee House.  After the tour ended, I walked to Pusser’s Store and Pub for an original painkiller drink—they are supposed to only be made with Pusser’s rum—delicious.

Back at ship (early all-aboard at 130p), waiting for something to do.  Ended up at the “smart cruising” presentation and learned about some deals at CruiseNext I need to check out. Wound up getting 3 $250 deposit certificates for only $375…can use TWO of them for my next cruise—found one for December.  What am I thinking??

Went out to the Waterfront again and did some crosswords…the couple next to me is doing nothing but complaining about everything, including each other.  Headed to dinner at the Manhattan room—another good one—cream of broccoli soup, Caesar salad, fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, and corn on the cob.  Couldn’t even stomach dessert. We must be in rougher waters because I can feel it really strongly…and it makes me walk like I am drunk!
